I have pulled on a TA from a light for 2 sec. then it ran away. This was when I was Stock. Now, I eat them up and spit them out.

The s2000 is a very athelitic, well-balanced, nimble track car. Use it for what it's made for and you'll enjoy it and find it more challenging in autocross or road racing instead of illiegal dragging.
The trans-am will run quicker laps on a road course as well.

Only on fast road courses with many straightaways, because of the obvious advantage in accelerations. On tight courses, not a chance! People need to distinguish the differences.

Even on a tight roadcourse.

There is a persistent rice-boy based belief that F-body's do not handle well.

As someone who has experience with the matter, I am here to tell you, stop believing what 16 year old Honda fanbois write on Internet forums.

Hell, why just believe me. The SCCA still dumps the 96+ Camaro SS in Solo II's AS class -- along with 04+ S2000's but not pre 04 S2000's.

The Camaro is also in a faster road course class(es).

People need to speak from experience and not what they read on the Internet!
So then why would you post a response to this thread, if it's of no use to anyone?

Actually, I test-drove a 2001 SS in the past (I've test-driven so many cars; an Elise this weekend). Even though I didn't push to its limit, it felt too heavy and heavy-steering for me to think it could compete with an S on a tight roadcourse. Furthermore, I've read from plenty of previous Camaro owners on here to know what they said, and they said the car didn't handle nearly as well. Yes, I also knew the SS is classed into the A-Stock, but that somewhat confuses me. The car is heavy and feels too numb for me to think it handles as well. But my quick driving experience may not constitute a reality, but I still very much doubt it.

We can weave through shopping carts at the supermarket...or kids at a bus stop.
