On my way home from work last night, I noticed a blue C5 flying up behind me. It was was getting dark so I couldn't see any details on the car until later. He switches lanes behind me, buries the throttle, and is long gone. I later catch up to him at the next light when I noticed the vents in front of the rear tires. It's a Z06! He once again displays his might. I had this feeling that he was try to get me to race him. I just continued to casually cruise along thinking that it wasn't even worth me wasting any gas on the guy. I didn't need to be humiliated.

Later, I was waiting to make a left turn at a red light (behind some cars). A car pulled up behind me and one lane over. I heard an engine rev. I tried to look back but couldn't see what kind of car it was. He revved again so I revved back. It was really the first time I've revved it up to 9K with the top down at a stop with my Comptech exhaust (what an awesome sound). He revved again. The light turned green and I made my turn. The other car comes up next to me and it's a. . .Dodge Stratus! Bone stock with two kids! He revved again and took off (well, as fast as a Stratus can take off). I just laughed and let them go.

 

You revved to 9k at a stoplight just to throw back a rev? I bet that was super loud.

Usually I just blip the throttle a bit to throw revs ... 9k rpms makes everyone go deaf.

s2kennn: Either it wasn't a Z06 (a Boxster S or an S2000 can't be a regular C5), or the driver lacked any driving skills, or he/she wasn't trying very hard. Take a good look at the cold hard facts -- the Z06 is a monster that eats everything else in its price range for lunch. Do you have a stock Boxster S?
