Default S2K vs ALTIMA SE-R

well first off, i got my s2 about 5 days ago so when this happened i was basically just cruisin around enjoying my new car.

it was during the day, around 3-4pm so i wasnt expecting to run against anything. so im just cruising around and make a right at a street, i punch it a little to feel this new found power of mine and notice in my rear view theres what looks like an altima trailing me.

i think nothing of it until he changes lanes and zooms past me. i notice its an altima se-r. i speed up a little to catch up to him and noticed hes stopped at the next red light. as im coming to an almost full stop the light turns green so instinctively i jump on it.

he lets his tires bark before launching and we're off. i redline first and 2nd and it seems a bit even. i shift to third and i start to pull on him. i kept pulling until about 90mph and start to slow down due to the red light up ahead.

this time we're both at a complete stop and hes revving his nissan at me. green. we both take off, i launch it at about 5 and a half and take a nice jump on him till about 80mph and had to slow down because of the oher cars occupying the street. from there he switched lanes to the right and eventually took a right at the next 2 streets.

i have to admit, i was a little afraid to be racing in broad daylight, especially since i just got my car and at the redlights there were cars just spectating our male egos. fun race though.

has anyone else raced and altima se-r? were the results pretty similar?

I am pretty sure they are mid 14 second cars. The Altima SER is essentialy an Altima with the 350z engine.

Depending on the driver an S2K should be 13.8-14.5 so yeah. I have never ran one personally but I was about to buy one so I know a bit about it. Nice cars.

Uhh... isn't the 350Z motor the same as the Altima 3.5 just tuned to pump out more horses?

So An "altima SE-R i essentially an Altima with the 350z Engine" is a little ironic.

I always thought it was the Sentra that had the SE-R model? Altimas do too?

my buddy and his brother both had 3.5 altima's, which arent SE-R's i know, but they never got out of the 15's except for two times and they both had custom catbacks. most of the time they were low 15's, then again most s2K's that night were running 14.7's but it puts it all in perspective. arizona is a biatch for drag racing.
