I said they were the same size, not smaller. They are.
Wrong again...not even close to same size. 245 for the Murci, 275 for Sideways. FTW!!!

OOHHHHHHH BURN! Voodoo wins yet another online victory! Someone mark it on the board! Voodoo: 1,000,000 Akilldema: 0

Honestly, I can admit I was wrong there. I may have been thinking of the LP640, maybe not.

It's all good man. We're talking about tires . I really hope my car is as fast as a supercar like that.

1: Yeah, you're right. As a general rule of thumb, if there are 2 cars that weigh close to the same amount and have the same horsepower output, the car with DOUBLE the torque will prevail. (Of course the Lambo doesn't weigh anything near an S2000). Anyone with an S2000 with its whopping 150 ft/lb knows that even with a 4.11 gear it's not exactly a drag king.
Actually, I think you are still confused. The car that spends the most time in its powerband will end up being the fastest. If neither driver can launch for crap then the car that has the most horsepower down low(torque) will be faster. If both cars are launched ideally then they will have near equal acceleration. Cars like the S2k have short gears so that they can get into and stay in their powerbands. Torque is not equal to acceleration i.e. Mustang GT v. S2k.

It's so funny whenever people talk about torque being important for being fast. Carroll Shelby once said: "Horsepower sells cars; torque wins races."
His generation also believed smoking was good for you.
