Default soda's '04 s2k vs. civic

so there i am sitting in an ending lane at a light...i saw a late model black civic 2 door coupe on the way to the light...he had aftermarket exhaust and stock rims. while i was stopped i saw him pull out of his lane and get behind me. i'm snickering to myself 'give me a break'.
the light turns green and i launch at my normal 900rpm's and floor it. he does the same and by the time i hit second he was even with me...keep in mind he was behind me to start. by third gear he was pulling away from me like i missed a gear. geez!
i pulled next to him and gave him props...we talked for a minute or so. turns out he has a turbo but he didn't say anything more than that. he was a nice guy...said he might pick up an s soon.
i have a new respect for those little cars!

This is exactly why I am in the middle of building my turbo engine. Too bad I sold my S2000 though. I'm going to have a KILLER sleeved 2.2 with nothing to put it in !

depending on the civic he must of upgraded like crazy. Most of civics with turbos run like average like 230 hp. Most of them run like 14.3 14.5 somewhere around that time about 8 psi. he must of been at least 15 psi with some heavy upgrades to boost pretty high to beat u

Sleeper. Have to watch out for them. How much do Civics weigh, 2500lbs or so? I don't think it would take that much HP to get them to go pretty quick, especially the ones with the K20 swap.

230 whp or crank?

I know they can be alot lighter than us even in the coupe. quarter times are going to be a bit slow due to traction problems more than likely.

seems its more of a normal thing to see civics that are beasts.....

it doesnt take much to get a civic into the 13's, a guy i know has ~200whp in an eg hatch, getting deep into the 13's and btw...that's n/a!!!

however most civics are highway rollers, as traction is an issue with wrong wheel drive

good times!

One of my friends just got rid of his 01' EX coupe and he had a custom turbo, bolt ons (no internal work) + alcohol injection and was running 9-11 psi and at max he pulled a 13.7 at the track on street tires. I was surprised, but I watched it happen.
