WRX will take both an s2k and a srt-4 off the line... I think you can all agree. With bolt ons theydo gain a lot of power. TXS turbo back exhaust is 26.5 AWHP gain.

Two people I know, one in an S4 one in a WRX. Race on the freeway and they were dead even to each other. WRX might have even been pulling. Both were stock, and I know the S4 is not much slower then the S2000 on the freeway.

The wrx is not that heavy, 3,085 pounds. So only about 235 pounds heavier. And with a turbo back exhaust it puts down the same amount of hp to the wheels as a stock s2k. But being awd and gearing not for the freeway, Still not quite there yet.

But off the line, if it could do it befor it will do it worse now and the s2k with a good driver will catch, but the little neon, no chance.

I don't quite know why i said all this. Maybe I dont think you really know just how fast the rex is. I have it set in the same catagory as the s4, e36 m3, s2k, and so on. I don't put the neon in there because well, its a neon.

And no im not saying it will or can win on a freeway without mods, but it's not as bad as everyone thinks. Esspesially with a turboback exhaust/up pipe. The you have your UTEC and then camaro ss's are having problems.

Just for fun, about a month ago I saw a WRX eat a Z06 for lunch, pretty bad too (couple car lengths). But then I asked him what he had done and he said "Everything but the turbo."

I also saw no FMIC (could have had a larger TMIC)

So it still has a lot of room for more power.

Having driven both cars, including a turbo back exhaust. In terms of feel the WRX would get spanked near stock on the highway. I wonder why no one has made a revised 4th gear for that car yet.
Perhaps I'm wrong because the s2k feels like it's going way faster anyway.

4th gear = Overdrive = hitting a wall.

Modded sure it can be faster no question though.

There must be a lot of mirages out your way. A ZO6 is a 12 second car right out of the box. A stock WRX is a 14 or 15 second car. "Everything but the turbo" is going to shave off 4-5 seconds?
There is more to this "anecdote" than what's being presented here.

I would have to agree with xviper, unless the road was wet and they ran till 100 mph

Yeah ok, BS...

whatever you want to think. Doesnt change what happened and it doesnt matter in the slightest bit if you believ it or not..not at all. So whatever floats your boat.

And yeah, the s2k does feel like its going faster. One thing I love about the s2k, feels great to drive, and on the freeway it probably IS going faster. But off the line, its all about the rex and really theres no arguing it. Espesially if modded.

With the average driver the z06 will run a higher 12 second run.

I have seen one run low 13's in person. (driver sucked)
(also saw it on video which i dont have any more, vs a white E36 m3 supercharged, m3 beat it, z06 ran a VERY low 13 second run)
goes to show what a differance the driver makes.

and when he says everythign but the turbo, that does not mean boost levels were not increased.

Just means he has not upgraded to a bigger turbo..

Oh and, the wrx is NOT a 15 second car. It is a low 14 second car capable of high 13's with a good driver, same as the s2k.

Just an fyi. There have been a handful of wrx's that have hit 12's on the stock turbo and intercooler. So the story about beating a z06 is entirely believable. Especially if the z06 driver was caught off guard and wasn't the best driver.

I have a wrx, s4 and an s2k. I would say that stock for stock. From a stop the s4 and wrx would kill the s2k. From a roll and on the freeway the s4 will still pull on the s2k w/the wrx being last. As far as moddability and ease to make the cars go straight line faster. The s4 and wrx own the s2k. JMO

never ever heard of a WRX running a high 13 bone stock. with a very good driver i heard the best a 14.2. i never even seen anybody stock, at all the times i watched racing at english town, break even a 14.5. and an S4 will not pull the s2000 from a roll. there even been videos of s2000s and s4 running. i remember seeing the s4 beat the s2000 off the line and the s2k catching it and passing it.
