Walked a 911 ,,2001 MODEL

Bottom line is, I don't disagree with anything you've said. Except that on the 'street' it's more likely most S2000's do not get anywhere close to 13.8secs but are closer to the 15sec mark. 911 will not be doing flat 13s either on the street, but it will be a fair bit less 'off the pace' then the S2000.

I guess I was just coming to jerseys2k's defense. I can see now that you are speaking in general terms and not about this particular incident. To that end I agree with you.
In this case, jerseys2k has a track proven 13.6, so he obviously knows how to drive the car to its' limit.
Given that, I think it's likely that the 911 was really trying to race (i.e. correct gear, WOT, did not misshift), and simply underestimated his ability to make up the S2000's 'jump' and possible other factors.
PS I am presuming 14.0-14.1 sec for the S2000 in this simulation, not 13.8
Ok, now all of those graphs made my head hurt! Now, box up both cars and drivers and let them do 5 laps at a big track like Road America or that sort of famous track in France for five laps. What would the outcome be.(obviously hard to prove but guessing can be fun) To me, both cars are more in their enviornment on a track with turns. While on the subject(sort of), why are there no S2000's in any of the major classes around the country? Do all the rules packages eliminate the possibility. I figure with all the kills I read about a race prepped S2000 should hold its own.
This turned into a pretty good thread .. .thanks to all involved :-)
And Carace, to answer your question here's a couple 'famous' tracks that had both cars on them and the same driver driving them in dry conditions (but different days):
Hokenheim (the shorter version):
- Porsche 911 ('02) = 01:17.1
- Honda S2000 = 01:18.9
Nurburgring (the really long one):
- Porsche 911 Carerra ('02) = 8:17
- Honda S2000 = 8:39
