So I'm driving on 183 access the other day and I look in my rear view and saw something I didn't recocnize at first. An old 80s Triumph with the top down and an old man wearing some aviator sunglasses with his gray hair blowing all around. I gave him some Snaps to see how well he would keep up. Much to my surprise he not only kept up, he was all over my ass. I decided to see if he would follow me onto the highway. Apparrently he could not wait. I was in it all the way up the access and he was pretending like he was going to pass me on the left before we are even up the damn thing. I come up, drop a gear, and WOT. Unbelievalbe, this guy just sails past me. Still not completely sure what car has just put me in a sleeper hold so I look for badges on the back of the car. Triumph TR8. The car had duals that were spewing thick smoke. Boosted? This thing was fast! As this crazy old man went by me he just smiled and shot at me with his finger as if to say down goes another.

i was looking at the old triumphs before getting the s2k. There were a bunch of guys installing v8's into the spitfires. They look nice, but have horrible reliability and old school drivetrain and suspension bits

TR8 had a Rover V8. Was pretty anemic engine by today's standards...more than likely it was either modded or had an engine swap. Stock 1/4 mile on those was in the 16sec range. But that motor can be easily modded to put out 300hp NA, and the car weighs 2600-2700lbs.
