[QUOTE=turbo_jimbo,Feb 12 2006, 05:57 PM] no, but i feel how sluggish it is on 5psi... humid days make more power.

kayvan, please stop. what planet are you from? dude, at sea level you make more power, WAY more. why, more humidity. as altitude changes, you get less atmospheric pressure, and here, less humidity. vegas is like colorado, you make substantially less power because of the conditions. thats why we say, and its well known, most cars run .7 tenths, to 1 full second slower here, than at sea level. anyways. later dave

There is more variables than that dave... I know you do make less power where you are but not because of the humidity...

Down here in the Bay Area, on humid days the cars makes less power than not so humid days....

here, play with this for a while. or search google for *horsepower relative to humidity*

humidity factor calc

too much water, like completly submerged, will net a loss of power, but vapor like that to make up higher humidity numbers will net a gain of power. its simple chemistry. honestly.

humidity is relative...
Relative humidity: an amount of water vapor in unsaturated air; ratio of vapor pressure in air/saturated vapor pressure x 100%. Sorry, but when you saturate the air with WATER (humidity), you decease GAS vapors (i.e., oxygen).

[QUOTE]back to high school chemisty...

The oxygen in the water is bound, and unusable. This is why you can't breathe underwater. If our engines could cause a nuclear reaction to detach the oxygen molecules from the hydrogen, then damn!

thank you!!!

Denser air makes more power!! Also you might want to read this article on how some dyno operators cheat with your numbers My Webpage
