who would win?
Based on my experience the s2000 can beat a ws6 if the driver has superior expertise. With equal drivers the ws6 will win. The ws6 will not handle nor corner as well as an s2000. When driving the s you feel as if your are sitting down inside the car and connected to the pavement (go kart-like). Conversely when driving any of the f body cars one gets the sense that your on sitting on top and that you are herding the car in the desired direction. The s2000 is a scalpel while the ws6 is a butchers knife. Back in my motocross days I raced a 125 and the s2000 is the closest thing in a car to that experience. Lots of revs, little torque and razor sharp handling. The ws6 is like the since retired open class 500's. Lastly there are a plethora of trans ams, firebirds, camaros, mustangs and corvettes out on our highways that illicit very little reaction from the viewing public. This is certainly not the case for the s2000. It generates some serious head turning.
The ls1 IS a faster car than the s2000, but FWIW, I have encountered 3 ls1s and they have not been able to pull on me much if any. I have even eeked out a win against one 40-120 or so. But I have also seen plenty of low 13 second time slips for the fbody and no stock and many modded s2000s will not come close to that. So maybe I just encountered bad drivers.
But IMO, there isn't ENOUGH power in the Ls1 to justify purchasing a Fbody over a s2000. In EVERY other single aspect of an automible the s2000 is just plain FAR superior to the Fbody. Handling, ergos, feel, refinement, chassis dynamics, egineering, looks, ect... Night and day.. Well, I guess the stereo is better on a fbody.
But if you want to mod a Fbody, you can make it a monster and unless you want to fI your s2k, you can't really do much. So if that is your intention, to have a street monster, then the descision should be a no brainer. But I'll take the s2000 and its piddly 4 banger 7 days a week thank you very much.

John Q. Public behind the wheel of the S and an experienced racer behind the wheel of a WS6 and the S is TOAST on a road course.
Put little ole me behind the wheel of the WS6 and I'll beat any living or dead human being driving the S in the 1/4 mile.
Don't get me wrong,,, I really like the way corvettes look (Fbodys? No thanks, they look like mullet-mobiles), but there are far too many of them roaming the streets to warrant the attention that the s2k gets. It is almost rediculous. It actually gets REALLY old having to answer questions and comments from passerbyers and gas station co-occupants. It is a NON stop, continuous onslaught. You would never hear the "What is that?" comment directed towards a vette owner. Everyone knows what it is and have seen countless before. As a s2000 owner that is a commonly asked question. The antics from females NEVER gets old though!
I have a nice collection of phone numbers that my roomate and I have gathered in the short time we spent out on the roadways of the `nati.

I didn't hear it before I said it. I have experienced it. Corvettes are common as are all of the other aforementioned cars. Common in laymans terms means there are a lot of them. Capeche? When one sees the same thing over and over again they become desensitized and therefore do not become intrigued or curious about what they have seen. You should know because it has to be the reaction you get to your car everyday.
