I have an S2000 and people with other highend cars always comment on my car everywhere I go and yes it might not beat a Ws6 but who cares who needs tickets plus with that top down its a great driving experience and also 9000rpm and the Handling its fun.....Plus women love drop-tops.....But if you want all horsepower and tickets and not pull up in front of a club and resturant in a ws6 then go for it...S2000 attracts good attention no matter where you go

You'll have a hard choice on your hands.

Key term here is "race prepped" - both the S2000 and the V8's. The point is that the F-bodies and Mustangs have A LOT MORE to gain from race preparation than the S2000 - the more you modify the car's suspension and tires, the less of a cornering difference there will be, but the power difference remains.
Also, please bear in mind that the V8 cars had A LOT longer time to sort out the best setups (9 years), while S2000 is still brand new and unexplored. Last year an S2000 did pretty well in T2 class (2nd overall and 2nd fastest lap).
I was talking about STOCK cars. I guess my point is that S2000 comes stock from the factory pretty much ready for the track ("race-ready suspension, race-ready engine and race-ready brakes" as one of the magazines put it), while F-bodies require a lot more modifications in the handling department to catch up to the S2000.

Yup, different types of cars, but still, one of them has to be "faster" than the other one, in a staright line.
