I'm sorry, but that is a very common misconception.
It's all in exit speeds, not straightaway pulling power.
Let's take a look at an actual example: TWS has a long straightaway which is about a 1/4 mile long, so we can safely assume about 6mph trap speed advantage of WS6 over an S2000.
Let's say WS6 is exiting the turn leading to the straightaway (turn 15 at TWS) at 50mph.

If you want a car that puts up better numbers, but feels like shit go for the pontiac, if you want a car that is balanced and drives the way a true race car should, get the honda. If all you care about is numbers, than by all means you deserve the pontiac. If you care about feel and fun get the honda.

I also picked between a Trans-AM and an S2000 when I bought my car a year ago. Even though the Trans-AM is CLEARLY faster, it was an easy decision for me to get an S2000. I have never seen 6 S2000s at an intersection except for a couple of meets.
I would say that if you like to take your car to the track and are really into street racing, definitely buy the Trans-AM.

my dad and I decided to go for the S2000. I looked around and I only found two in a dealership in tysons. As far as Ws6's i found 4 in Tysons and a firehawk. What we want to do now is sell my firebird, and buy either an 2001 or 2002 S2000. I might just look for the cheaper one in a dealership nearby. If any of u can help me find one around VA or MD then post it here. I don't plan to buy it cash either, we are financing it with like 4 k of down payment. I decided on the S2000 becuase of gas mileage, 240 HP for a 4 cylinder engine, the VTEC, looks, not many around my area, all people in school say that they would love to have an s2000, its their dream car, thanks for the help.

If you were so concerned with economy why not buy an Insight?
I can get over 30MPG on the highway in my WS6. However, economy was the absolute last thing I had in mind when I decided to buy it. Look are subjective.. The S2000 does nothing for me. It looks like a next generation Del Slo (no, that wasn't a typo).
The elitist (and generally uninformed) attitude from many is quite entertaining.
