$52,000 out the door...is that crazy?.....
Sounds like he trusted his "friend." When he finds out that he could have gotten the same car for $15,000 less, he is not going to enjoy his S2000. Everytime he sees it he will be reminded that he was taken.
I'm sort of surprised by the board's reaction to that poor sap's bad fortune. He was defrauded by someone he thought was his friend.

He should really check the definition of the word "friend" I think he has been mislead about more than the car.....

Guys c'mon, stop it right now...don't be assholes. This guy obviously got taken advantage of, he's not the first nor will he be the last...cut him a little slack.
Also, you can't put a price on happiness, if he wanted the car right then and he's happy with what he paid then so be it, besides, you all know that this is a $50K car in $32K car clothing.
Have some decency will ya'?

What a gullible idiot...i'd feel bad for him if he were taken advantage of in some sort of scam, but this was no scam. The truth was there for him to see. Just by looking at the s2000 you wouldn't expect it to carry a $52,000 out the door price. The audi S4 nicely loaded is $10,000 cheaper than that, and brand new M3s have a lower MSRP than that nicly loaded, and after markups can still be found for a hair under $60,000. How can an s2000 cost as nearly as much as an E46 M3....and how can someone believe that? No sympathy here, especially if the case is that he has the money. That's no excuse for laziness when $20,000 are involved, that's just plain sad.
I wonder if any of the folks who think that poor sap is an idiot paid $10K over list themselves. The fact is that once in the "process" with a dealer, many civilian purchasers are lambs in the presence of wolves. The dealers start a process designed to wear down and exhaust the buyer. They then confuse the buyer with a barrage of bullsht, distract him by working 2 calculators at the same time, shuttle him between the sales person, the manager and the finance guy, and when the room is spinning at sufficient velocity, close the deal.
I sense a certain contempt for the fellow who got taken, including assumptions that he's "rich" or paid cash. I paid $34.5 for mine with front airdam, rear spoiler, side strakes, aeroscreen etc. But, I definitely have sympathy for the guy whose "friend" fvcked him.
Don't forget that dealers are sophisticated negotiators, most buyers are not. Boys playing against men. In this case, the buyer was also deceived by a friend who probably assured him he was getting a steal on his car. Fair play is fair play. Predatory dealers are scum and reflect poorly on Honda.
