Power is relatively the same between the two. There are some overall differences in the engine, but at the end of the day the power is very comparable between the two. I have no clue what kinda of driving experience you may have with RWD vehicles at your age. I bought my '07 at the age of 19, but I'd say I have had some pretty good experience with my fathers C6 'Vette and some other higher performance vehicles. I am no means an "expert" at driving these types of cars.

With that said, it really depends on what kind of experience you may have. At the age of 17, I can't imagine you have a lot of driving experience with any vehichle. If you respect the car, and know that it is capable of doing more than what you can do, you should be alright. Just know that it can bite back if you aren't careful.

LOL, so you're saying a 21 year old is more mature than a 17 year old? I've seen plenty of 21 year olds that are just as bad as a "dumb teenager".
yea but that way he'd have a couple years under his belt with modifying cars. driving them, maybe racing if he's into that, rather than him jumping into a mini race car and losing control and hurting someone... and im 22. so im not some old dude preachin that stuff. when i was younger getting a car this is the one i wanted, but im glad i settled with a civc ex and now i have an S. totally turned out right, i knew way more about cars when i ended up getting my S and im glad thats the way it went. But like CU nick said, it all depends on his driving experience, so i dont know that, im just taking a generalization from most 17 year olds...

Well it could be a no brainer, but I was thinking do I really need 9k revs and a plastic window or 8k with projectors.

The xenon headlights. I've read that earlier S2000's had a lot of problems compared to the AP2.

Well, the 02 will have a glass window. By 'projectors', are you talking about the HID's? Since it's birth, the S2000 has always had HID's.
