Big Ben, if that was directed at me, then all I can say is that I was trying to question what I read.

I don't have a position on this issue... I just know that there are two data points that differ from each other. I don't mind waiting six weeks to see what the trend actually is.

I would like to know what was biased about the TOV evaluation, rather than being a "blind follower" and simply believing that it was biased because someone named SECRET AP1 said so.

That was just done yesterday (the 22nd), right? All of the posts in this thread were written before that.

Have to wait for more dynos, but my money is still on VTEC.net dyno not being representative of all 04's.

Interesting to also note that the claimed 02+ horsepower bump is not their either.

I am refering to the posts made in all of the threads relating to the new '04 dyno. Not just his post here, there are many people trying to instantly discount this new dyno.

Truth be told, I can't understand why anyone would get up in arms about this anyway. I own an '04, I bought it because that was the current model on the lot. If the '05 model shows up next fall with an extra 20hp or whatever, I am going to ask myself whether $10k in depreciation + taxes is worth an extra 20hp, I'm going to say "hell no!" and I'm going to continue being happy with what I have. The actual rating(s) for models I don't own is completely immaterial to me, so long as I'm not in the market for a new car and am happy with the one I have.

And yet, I really question how happy some people here are with their S2000, because they always seem to be preoccupied with "trading up" or with the latest model. You see posts about whether the '04 center console or doors can be transplanted to their '03, etc. It's insane. I'd never wonder whether $1,000 worth of slight cosmetic fluff from the '05 could be transplanted to my '04; if I ever caught myself preoccupied by such things, I'd take it as a clear sign that I'm not really happy with the S2000. Yet, that's the norm here.

It's as though half the posters are hoping that the '04 isn't faster, so that they don't have to worry about trading in their car for it, and the other half are hoping that the '04 *is* faster, so that they are justified in trading for it. Either way, as a long time lurker but newbie poster and owner, I can't get over these "my S2000 sux cuz it's not the newest" and "your S2000 sux because it's different from mine" mentalities. It really undermines the sense of family that you'd expect out of this place.

So you are dragging this on and on simply because you like to debate?
