04 vs 03 Dyno test on vtec.net
its about time we give it up, not only is peak higher but the curve has no comparison and we all know its about the curve. any car can make 900whp but if it makes it 100rpms away from red line and before that is 200 then its absolutely useless, i know these numbers are idiotic but they show my point. Look at the dynos and see how from 6k-7k the power gains are much higher in the newer models.

Weird.
1) So we have the North Texas results. Approx 0 to 6 hp increase from F20C to F22C1.
2) Then we have kitwetzler's dyno from the Bay Area, with an 18.0 hp increase.
3) Finally, the vtec.net results, with a 25 to 30 hp increase on two different cars.
So what's really going on? Does the F22C1 make 240, 258 or 270 crank hp? Are the North Texas and Bay Area dynoes simply that innacurate, despite being rather accurate on other occasions?
The thing that I can't figure out is why the vtec.net dyno show such a different torque curve from the Dynojet based runs. Is it simply the way the equipment works? By different, I mean the vtec.net dynos have that extra 10 ft-lb spike right before 8000rpm that neither Dynojet shows. Remove that torque spike, and the curve seems to be pretty close to the one that kitwetzler got.

The difference in Dyno's between Kitweltzler's and TOV might be due to the two different types of Dyno's employed. The DynaPak tends to read higher numbers than a Dynojet. So comparing numbers between the two is pretty useless. But TOV is kind enough to Dyno both an F20 and an F22 back to back, giving a very good comparison between the two cars.
If I'd have bought an F-20 powered S2000 a year or two back I'd still be really happy with the car I have. Because no matter what the new F22 puts out (and it does put out more power it seems), it wouldn't change the amount of fun the car is to drive everyday.
As it is, Honda just included a little Christmas present early to all of us with the F22. I'd be super happy with my car with or without the extra horses, cause the car is just a pleasure to drive everyday.

Don't keep us in suspense!!
His car is the consumer car that TOV tested.
It's in the link above.
