Arrow 05 s2k FIRST MOD?

What modification will give me the best performance gains? I heard only good things about gears, If i do get gears which ones would be best for 1/4 mile times? How much should they knock off the quarter?? What in your opinion should be my first mod ? Intake? / Exhaust? / Gears? I can only do one mod for for this year, what shall it be? Please tell me the best brand name in your opinion because im new to imports and dont know too much about them? ANY posts are appreciated, THANK YOU.

What in your opinion should be my first mod ? Intake? / Exhaust? / Gears?
This kind of depends on your budget and what you expect out of your return for the money. An intake would be the cheapest (2 to 3 hundred bucks) but would give only a mild "bang for the buck". An exhaust will be a bit more expensive (at least double that of the intake) and will do about the same as the intake. "Gears" will run the most expensive (a thousand bucks or more installed) but will give the best "bang for the buck" of all 3. Gears could knock off about 1/2 second from a 1/4 mile if you are not a slow shifter.
A supercharger is well beyond the price range of the choices you stated (several thousand bucks).

As a side note: A Comptech kit installed by an authorized Comptech Honda dealer will not void your warranty ....................... well, kind of. The dealer will look after you should something go wrong. They more or less (in conjunction with Comptech) continue to honor the terms of the warranty based on the condition that you don't modify the supercharger kit in any way on your own. ie, if you put on a smaller pulley, bigger injectors, stand alone ECU, you are on your own.

The reason why us AP1 owners opted for shorter final drive gears was because with our cars it was very difficult to launch the car without either bogging down or burning the clutch. I've got 4.44 gears and really like them, but the downside is more buzziness on the freeway and more gear noise if you go with the 4.57 Richmond gears.

Honda addressed those problems with the AP2 cars by shortening the transmission ratios in 1st through 5th gears (keeping 6th the same for highway comfort) and adding the extra torque of the 2.2L. So, it's not as necessary to do gears with the AP2 cars. You can still do it, but it won't make as dramatic of a difference as on the AP1's.

Wow - I didn't know that about the Comptech installed at a dealer. Would IK24 sparks and a tuned VAFC constitute as tuning the engine further?

And what's the buzziness you speak of from the 4.44?

Plugs most likely would not constitute a further modification of the kit, but you must confirm this with the authorized dealer and Comptech to be sure. I believe a VAFC would be considered altering the operational parameters of the kit.

I think he was referring to extra noise and whininess of the 4.57s. I have the 4.44s and they are as quiet and as normal runnin as the stock gears.
