More respectable, I could see that...more reliable, Im not so sure about. Since Ive been on this site for like 2 days Ive seen more posts about problems with this car than I have seen about the SRT in the total time I owned the SRT. The SRT's motor and driveline are near bulletproof.

But to justify 'to each his own', reliability really resides with the operator of the car.

Take a bunch of punk kids who get the SRT and mod it without knowing how to and they eventually blow something up or post about problems that could have been avoided if they had the know how. With the S its a little different...this car isnt in the price range that those same kids can afford, so then you have to blame the supposed mature group for needlessly abusing the car.

and although the rev band of the S is pretty cool, its just as much fun to shift at 6 grand with the turbo singing.

I bought it new in '03 with almost 100 miles on the od. from test drives. It had less than 30k on it when I traded it in...shatty trade in value I might add...thats another plus for the honda, better overall resale value.

Had at least 100 passes in it at the dragtrip, never once had any kind of problem with the car...other than traction

Although with street tires I was able to get pretty consistent 1.9x 60 fts. Off topic I know, just was thinking about making a pass or two tonight for fun and I remember reading people on here only being able to muster 2.0's and 2.1's at best? What is up with that I wonder.

how about a special and super limited (restricted to 1000 units) "R" version?

- More aggressive NA tuning - aggresive cams, less restrictive intake, less restrictive and lighter manifold & exhaust, larger TB, ecu reprogram (tweak timing and fuel curves to suit higher octane fuels), maybe even handbuild each motor and check tolerances?

- lightweight program - cloth seats, radio & side controls deletion, thinner glass (dont know if this is possible), aluminum trunk, cruise & A/C deletion, lightweight forged wheels w/ hopefully improved run flat tires, spare tire deletion,

- larger brakes w/ functional venting from aerodynamics

- functional aerodynamics - "R" only exclusive aero parts, perhaps under trays and spoilers integrated into the bumper/trunk.

- beefier suspension components

- championship white paint, red cloth recaro seats.

but alas i dream.. and the price of this day dream would probably come in at over $40k for a honda

what the 06+ would most likely have is mp3 capabilities. it appears that all newer hondas have this feature now.

Just to make sure everyone knows:

Ishift@9 used to own an SRT4

Just thought I'd help out after reading through your posts.

Make a coupe verison, 2.4L I4, 270hp, 200lbs/ft, 9000rpm +or- , shorter axles (to accomodate lower offset wheels with wider tires), loss some weight (2500-2700lbs). That's all please.

Drop the weight to 2400lbs and add the 4.56 rear gear. Oh and I don't really care about a/c either.
