once again,

this car is capable of mid 5 sec 0-60 and very high 13's 1/4 @100.

I don't call that slow by any means.

The s2000 you drove was probably in limp mode.

Maybe it's more about the driver than the car. My S2000 is not slow. Have outrun 400 WHP Skyline GTR, among other cars that are universally regarded as "quick."
Yea, gotta be incompenternt drivers, because the S2000 is NOT slow. Drivers are slow, but that's not the cars fault.

Monkeyboys who don't know how to extract the performance form the S2000 think it's slow. They're wrong. It is their lack of skill that makes their car slow.
i'm not slow, trust me on this one. foundamentally, the car needs 80 hp more to the wheels. then it'll be perfect.

Make the car fast. A fast s2k is a sleeper - and having a sleeper is probably more fun than anything else.
I agree. exactly.

how much could a cel effect the performance? I dont think it could have been a big issue...the car only had a little over 100 miles on it, but i may be wrong.
Short answer, which you received on page 1, is yes. A CEL will impact performance.

If it was truely a CEL, then obviouly the car would be much slower. It possible that VTEC wouldn't engage in limp mode. And that would subtract HP. Maybe 40-50 hp.

BUT how does a car with 100 miles on it have a CEL? What did the light look like? When was it on?

i actually just test drove a 07 too this weekend for the first time and i was BLOWN AWAY. the feeling was amazing nothing like i've ever driven in my life. my friend next to me was shaking cause the car felt so fast. i never drove anything this fast in my life so maybe that's why it felt like i was sitting in a rocket ship launching upto space.

either way this car is amazing and i'm definately sold on buying one, however i would have to wait till i graduate college =\ until then i could only relive the short moment of excitement that car brought me last weekend.

I never felt my S was slow??????????
It sure feels faster than z4M! But that's only because car starts to rattle and windnoise and whiny engine noise

But seriously, I think you drove a beaten up S2K or you drove like granny.

i concur. i just picked up an 07 a few weeks ago and drove 600 miles home. at the beginning of the trip, it was not nearly as fast as it was at the end of the trip. for break-in!

Definitely our car isn't "fast" in a straight line, I still feel that with mine, but that's the great thing w/ a convertible, sometimes going slow to enjoy top down is just as important - and fun.
