Do you really purchase cars based solely on a single spec?

I would agree with the 02 - 03 cars (preferably 03) having the edge, perhaps. The world is changing soooo fast and cars take many, many years to become collectible if at all. The 20th centuries tango with oil is showing its geopolitical fire which 'may' result in a vastly different world. I also would not bet a nickel on the S becoming a 'valued' collectible, but comparable to what MG's and Triumph's are in todays market after 35 years of nomadic existence. The First series 99-01 are also very interesting due to their lively rear suspension setup. Of course, the only time you will come across a set of Bridgestone S-02's is in your dreams! Enjoy what you have NOW ... there is no better time.

I was going to sell my 06 next year, my fear was that with the "replacement" coming out, the prices on S2000s will dramatically drop.
Now that the S2000 is going out of production, and that the replacement has been cancelled; I cant help to wonder, would the S2000 depreciate faster than normal, or would it keep its value like Supras did?

 

untill the ecnomey changes we wont really know for sure.
considering the MSRP drop of new cars on the lot (s2k) maby after this is all said and done it will bring itself back to value

 

It's gonna be a while before any S2000 is a collector, due to the high overall production. Honda really pushed this too far, and it's truly taken away the the collector status, so in my opinion the CR is the only true collector model.

Hopefully the above post is true, and this car will level off in depreciation after there are no more no more cars to buy new. However, it's gonna be a long long time before the demand can catch up to the supply, so it's best to just enjoy the car for what it's now become, and new owners can reek the benefit of this, and get an incredible car for an incredible value.
