No changes between 08 and 09 - I'd be interested in knowing if the engine VIN has year on it.

I have been following this thread and am a bit puzzled that some people feel that a 2009 will be more collectible than a 2008 or 2003, etc, especially since an '08 is identical in every way, and mechanically the '06 and '07 have the same engine and drivetrain. Looking back to other Japanese iconic cars, has that been the case? Miata, Datsun Z, Supra, and RX-7? I don't believe so. Perhaps if the '09 were significantly different, but from what I have seen, it is not.

No- 09's will not be any more valuable/collectible than other years(except right now to dealers who value them higher as they are new). I personally think the 2.0l cars will be the ones which turn out to be collectible(especially with the glass rear window). Those cars are the most raw, uncompromised versions of the S2K.

Until Honda says it, I won't believe it.
Will this suffice:

I think this is pretty solid info...

If not then how about this from honda.com:

chickdr, you're a few days late. sw05s2k posted on Jan 21, Honda didn't announce it until Jan 26. No need to roll your eyes.

I dont understand, its human nature to want the latest even if its not changed. saying you have the latest year of a car for me would be a good selling point. assuming you had the exact same car in an 08 and 09...well which one do you think most would choose

The only S2000 that will be collectible imo is the CR - very limited numbers, USA only.
