07 will appreciate like all the others because the car will become rare.
I'm pretty sure the S2000 is not going to appreciate any time soon. Production volume is way too high. Even the Ferrari Testarossa is considered as a high volume car by collectors. There were just over 7,000 Testarossas built in total from 1984 to 1991 and they are still depreciating. You can pick up a Testarossa for about 30% of its MSRP.

I retract my statement above about a press release. I was misinformed. Honda would probably never officially release a statement of a discontinued model especially the S which is supposed to be the "top of the line" model. According to some of the old timers at the local dealership, they have never released an official statement regarding a model being discontinued. i.e., crx, del-sol, insight etc. I guess we'll have to wait until the model line up in 2010.

Honda did officially announce the end of the NSX back in 2005.

I can't find anything about the RSX right now, but IIRC there was an official release on it as well. (Maybe just internal stuff though, dunno.)

If you go to Honda's Owner Link page, you can add a vehicle via VIN, and get some details about that vehicle.

For example, I pulled JHMAP21218S001605 off a for-sale site, and got back:
Honda
2008
S2000
Club Racer with A/C & Audio 6 Speed Manual
Apex Blue Pearl
Yellow/Black

It wont tell you overall stats for a model year, though.

I think temple of vtec has the overall stats for a model year posted somewhere...I think I saw it there..and that 75 s2000s were sold in December of '08 (year end closeout I'd assume).

On a side note, if you guys are really getting a hard-on trying to break down if a 2009 CR exists, just use the autotrader link I posted earlier and run that VIN in the ad in a google search. Or, just google 2009 Honda S2000 VIN. You will get hits that away as well.

My $.02.
