I only get this grind when the car's been driven around and the tranny is hot. I'll hear it if the clutched isn't fully depressed coming out of 1st. Is this normal? When it's cold, there's no prob shifting at high rpm with the clutch 1/2 to 3/4 depressed. The last dealer couldn't duplicate it when test driving the car cold. I'd like to know how serious it is before taking it back. I don't remember having this prob. with my previous manual cars (328i, supra TT, Prelude). Thanks.

I have a 01' S2k and also experiencing grinding from 1-2 shift at high rpm speed shift. Was this a recall or already a fix for 01'. Thanks.

 

The TSB55 may have applied to all my2000 cars but most dealers will only fix if the problem can be duplicated. It was supposedly fixed for the my2001 but some owners are still reporting problems.
