It is precision tool that is designed to carve corners and run faster than many competitor around the track.
Simple as that.

The most probable way to get a 12 sec car is to remove massive wieght. The S2000 is highly tuned from the factory and doesn't gain much in mods. Even Spoon racing motors top out at around 300hp IIRC. Dropping pounds = cheaper and easier to gain seconds than engine mods.
The reason FF N/A Honda's can run 12 seconds is because they're generally hatchback civics, CRX's, etc. In other words, they're small, which means they're light, ranging from 1900-2200lb's (guesstimate). 200 Horsepower pushing 2000 lb's is going to be faster than 240 hp pushing 2800 lb's...(QUOTE)

"Horsepower Results - 1/4 Mile Method
Your honda s2000 weighs about 2500 pounds and can complete a 1/4 mile in about 12.5 seconds. That means that you've got about 258.05 HP at the wheels, and about 303.58 HP at the flywheel." this is what I got off the quarter mile calculator. Getting that 260 at the wheels NA is a bit tough but not impossible. I believe someone was up to about 236 at the wheels NA. Also the diff on this car is a bit difficult to perform.

Hi Guys.
Just wanted to make a point here!
I don t agree with you that an S2000 is not good for drag racing, it is all in the set up.
I guess that any production car was not designed to be a Drag car . I agree that our cars are designed for track use not for drag , if you take a look at S2king on You Tube then you can see what an S2k can do
So to come to a conclusion , yesterday i was at the track and i managed to hit 12.88 seconds @109.90mph .. 60 ft / 2.00 with my NA S2000
Below pls find my mods:
K24crank which with this mode my car is 2342cc
H22 Rods
H22 Pistons
4.44 J'S Final Drive
Spoon Lightened flywheel
Spoon Clutch kit
HKS 4-1 Header
J's super circuit
Trust Short ram air intake
Hondata K-Pro
RC 650cc injectors
Hondata Manifold Inlet gasket .
Bf Goodrich Drag radials
Power 276hp @190FT Torque.
In my opinion i can lower the time cause i should get better 60ft times.
Please let me now if you require any other information.
In my opinion with a better 60ft time i can manage to
I think i

Do you have any of the time slips that you can post?
You have to pick good parts. Not a 60mm exhaust. lol
But... On the 06+ I would do this:
CAI
PLM header
3 inch exhaust with/tp
Flashpro tune
4.57 gears
Slicks
Mild weight reduction
Honestly, I have never seen anybody with that set up go to a 1/4 mile. I think a 12 second pass is doable. My friend ran a 13.6 with just a 70mm and tp.
