Default 15 Hours in an S2000=Suicide!

I flew to Arizona on Sunday to pick up my S2000 that I just bought and Drove all the way back to Dallas in one day. I thought it would be 12 hours, well, 12 hours turned into 15 hours! I enjoyed the beautiful scenery of AZ and NM, but I will never do that again. At 10 hours, I just started to get too damn cramped in that little car. And these seats definetely aren't meant for long trips.

But nonetheless, DAMN I love this car!

I disagree. I've done 14-15 hours in the car on multiple occasions between st. louis and san antonio and have had no problems. I find the car just as comfy as the others I've made the same trip in. Glad to hear you love the car though!

Whoa, you drove your new s2k for 15 hours? How did you resist going above 5k rpm? I drove 7 hours the day before in mine, in dead traffic, you know the type where you're in first gear the whole time. Lucky if I could get it in 2nd even for a couple seconds. Driving the S is comfy when going fast, but not as enjoyable in dead traffic, but then again what car is.

Oh yea, wasn't it better for your break in period to vary your speed, i.e. drive on local streets as well as freeways etc.. well just my 2 cents..

So you driving back to that dealership for the free oil changes?

I did 12 hours in the S2000 with no problems, no fatigue - something I couldn't say when I did it in a GSR and Civic in the past.

Hmm.....I've never driven more than an hour in my S2000 (return trip from dealer as well). I can say wholeheartedly, that I'd never consider a 12-15 hour trip in the S2K. The trunk is too small for supplies for such a trip, and the quarters cramped. Call me what you like, but I'd prefer a sumptuous oversized SUV or minivan for such an endeavour.

Wow, That is a good drive for a first timer! To be perfectly honest I think of it as a sneaker, Would you run a marathon in a brand new pair of shoes? A break in period is for more than just the engine! The S has a unique feel and it does take some getting used to but once you are used to it a 15 hour trip should be much more comfortable.

The trunk is to small for a 15 hour trip?? You must be kidding! Me and my girlfriend has carried luggage for a 16 day road trip/vacation around in Europe (6500 km) in the S.
The trunk is big enough as long as you use your brains when you pack .

BTW. It was the best vacation We've done ever!

The dealer out there must've cut you a hell of a deal to go all the way to AZ. How many miles was that? Congrats on getting it!

I've done many ridiculous drives in the S2k. When I bought it my friend and I drove it from Akron, OH to Los Angeles, and since we both had to be at work we drove nonstop...in that we would just swap driving duties as the other slept. 32 hours later we were home. Tired from the drive but NOT from the car.

Then when I moved back to Detroit I drove the car from LA to Detroit alone. I did the trip in 2.5 days, but never got fatigued due to the car.
