1st to 2nd does not feel right
I just got my S2000 last wednesday, and the car only has ~350 miles on it. The only thing that has been odd is the transition between first to second gear. When I shift (seems to be at any RPM) from 1 to 2, it makes a slight grinding sound. Question is, should I take it back to the dealer, or do you think it might "work itself out." The dealer is in High Point NC and I live in Raleigh NC, so it is not too convenient for me to just drop it off. Need some opinions please.
Thanks

It grinds, albeit not horrendously. Just not sure if this is a problem that I should take care of now before it gets a lot worse. I do depress the clutch all the way down too, so I dunno....
I have read in some of the other threads that this was a problem on the year 2000 models, but was "fixed" on the 2001's. Can anyone that might have had this problem with their '00 model explain to me what it was like for them?
I got my 01 about 4 weeks (and 2500mi) ago. I had the notchiness b/w 1 and 2 (still do but it's gotten better). Mine wasn't grinding though, just that "notched" feel that other members have described as if going thru small stages (2-3) before setting in. My experience is that it has gotten smoother with some miles (not sure if that's really a good thing). Also, warm is better than cold.

A "notchy" feeling is quite normal going into 1st and 2nd in Hondas, as they use a different kind of synchro in those gears. If what you're seeing is an actual "grind," do a search on this board and you'll find dozens of threads about that.
