1st stick shift car!
I hope this doesn't sound mean, but don't you have friends or someone who can show you in person? It's much easier to see/feel/hear it done for you, rather than have a bunch of monkeys on the internet tell you how to do it.
Did someone just give you the car with a pat on the back and a "go nuts, kid?"

If not, I didn't read through the posts above, but I'm sure they're good advice.

Im a size 11-12 depending on the shoe but i have no problem at all.
If your concentrating on heal-toeing, it wont happen. It has to happen like second nature and im not trying to get my entire heal on the gas pedal, i just gently graze the gas. It was a little difficult at first... my Integra Type R is easier, but practice makes perfect.

[QUOTE=YoZUpZ,Aug 21 2007, 01:52 AM]Do ya'll actually use your heel to heel-toe? (I know, sounds like a dumb question) I have found that the edge of the brake pedal and gas pedals are close enough to just roll the outside of my foot onto the gas while still holding the break... maybe its just me, but it seems its a lot quicker and easier than trying to rotate your foot to get your heel onto the gas pedal...
Another heel & toe video:

just type "heel and toe" into the search videos box. but you have to watch the commercial first

anyway, i think this forum is great for advice, and i'm grateful for everything i've learned here.
not to jack my own thread though, but in those videos that show heel/toe, it seems that the pedals are almost even with each other. is there anyway to adjust the brake or gas pedal in our s2k to make them more level with each other?
Make sure and spend some time with the basics first. Everytime someone asks anything about shifting here (happens weekly) we get a couple of pages covering advanced topics such as the double clutch and the heel-toe downshift. You could go your entire life without doing either, as apparently you're friends are doing. Even revmatching isn't needed except under extreme conditions. All this stuff is good form, but certainly not needed off the track. Remember you can overanalyze anything, including driving stick.
EDIT: All this stuff and more are covered in gory detail in the book "Going Faster" by Skip Barber. This is definately worth a read if you're interesting in performance driving.
