Seriously, with the mark up, you could easily buy a 2003 and Supercharger or Turbo for around the same price, and it would be way faster than a stock 2004. Assuming it sells for around 36K-38K.

I doubt you'll see much of a price difference. Incremental changes rarely result in this.

And for the nth time, I see little evidence that iVTEC makes any more than an extremely modest difference in the engine's torque curve vs the std VTEC.

Are they gonna have the S2000 and S2200, or is the S2200 the replacement???

Sounds to me that the S2200 will be an improved car in many ways.. hope the clutch/transmission is better.
More specifically, i-VTEC expands on the standard VTEC by continuously varying the intake camshaft (relative to the exhaust cam) by as much as 50 deg.! It offers improved emissions by allowing some of the exhaust to re-enter the combustion chamber under certain conditions acting like an EGR. Torque is spread out over a wider range and top end performance is improved as well. IMO there is no downside (other that increased complexity) to the system and I'd welcome it to the S2200. JUST MAKE SURE THE REDLINE STAYS THE SAME!

while the HP gain doesnt seem too great, i would imagine the extra .2 L would add a good amount of low end torque, which is what that car needs

One of these days you guys are gonna quit only comparing peak power ratings and worry more about the area under the curve. With more power throughout the range, especially with more low end, the car will be more pleasant to drive and will be faster.. even if the peak number is no higher.

Speculation over preliminary numbers is a bit of a waste, we will just have to for the release. If they were able to make the handling more forgiving at the limit along with the broader power range the car may just gain some international acclaim that the original could not.

Cthree, please re-read the first line of my post, I specifically said I DON'T know, that this is my opinion. It's only what I think. It just seems logical to me, I have nothing to substantiate it.

Drive by wire? Yikes. What about left foot braking? Will the computer turn it into a thing of the past?
