Default 2 Questions

1) when you're reving hard on the 04 (not that you should be - right?) when it reaches the engine's limit, does any part of the engine RPM meter blink? i'm asking because i saw a video once of some japanese guy racing it, and when he reached 8k's on the RPM, the right tip of the rpm guage blinked... SO DOES IT BLINK when u reach the engine's limit?

2)do the speakers behind the headrest make a difference while driving with the top down?

Not sure about the '04, but I suspect the digi-dash does the same thing as my yeaer... Yes, the RPM gauge starts to blink around the time you hit the rev limiter.

Don't know about the headrest speakers, but it's certainly true that the stock stereo, even with an add-on subwoofer in the trunk, doesn't really punch enough for highway driving. I tend to roll the windows up halfway, and that actually helps to reflect the sound enough that I can hear the stereo.

Yes it will blink a couple times before the revlimiter will bounce and knock you back. As for the not that you should be, heh thats what the revlimiter is there for right? Get close to it and shift!

Is it so that the rev limiter will start blinking 200 revs before the fuel is cut off?

Lionheart,

The rev-limiter *is* the fuel cutoff. I think what you're asking is does the tachometer start blinking 200 RPM before the rev-limiter kicks in... I don't know the answer; my eyes are glued to the road when I'm near redline

I have noted a few occasions where I've been surprised by the power drop-off, only to realize that I've actually hit redline. I can only tell you that I've never been staring at the dash when this happens.
