I just checked the Honda parts listing. The original disc from 2000 was superceded to the same number used in the 2001. All other parts have the same part number.

I have a 2000MY, recently had my clutch TSB done and did not notice a difference in pedal feel. My clutch has always been a bit on the heavy side.

Had the clutch in my MY00 replaced last week. I can't say I notice the clutch is any lighter but I do notice it is a whole lot easier to take off from the lights at low revs.

With my old clutch I had to give the Stook a fair bit of throttle otherwise it would bog. In practice this meant letting the lcutch out slightly then giving it more throttle before letting the clutch out fully - quite tricky to do smoothly every time.

With the new clutch I can release the clutch in one fluid motion without having to increase throttle.

This surprises me as I always thought my bogging was caused by a too lean mixture off idle (due to LEV requirements) - apparently I was wrong!

Anyway, it is a huge imprvement and I am very pleased with the result.

If all the service parts are the same (as they are) I'd say the varience in feel is due to wear. Only MY2000 I felt was not stronger.......

TSB = Technical Service Bulletin

It means that it there is a known issue that may or may not affect you. The dealer will most likely try to recreate the problem before attempting to fix it. In other words, a TSB is like an extremely minor recall.

This website contains a list of all TSB's for our S2k.

The clutch probably won't last as long as other Hondas. But, how many Honda's(cars) do you have that can rev to 9,000 RPM?

The condition of the pressure plate should effect pedal pressure. The condition of the clutch disc should effect clutch engagement feel at the pedal. What I'm basically saying is, whether your clutch disc is in horrible or new condition, the pedal pressure should stay the same. Weird...
