Has anyone seen dealers selling beneath MSRP. For those of you in the midwest, do you think dealers will be any more aggressive with their 2000's as the snow starts to fall? Just wondering how much, if any I should be getting off of a 2000 S2k.

OK, my stomach hurts from laughing so hard...I am better now...

Seriously, the largest Honda dealer in the midwest is in Chicago (Schaumburg, to be exact) and I visited it today. They had a 26 car allocation for MY 2000. The most that just about any dealer has gotten. They were able to sell their S2000's for probably well above sticker even in the middle of winter in Chicago...! If it can be done here, it can be done anywhere.

Can you find an S2000 for sticker? Sure, it just takes a lot of phone calls and work on your part...winter or not, dealers will sell for the most they can get. And in no case that I know of has any dealer sold under sticker...sorry!

Hi I got my S2000 not so long ago. My tactic is to go to Honda's website and call ALL the dealers listed there. I called over 70 or 170 , can't really remember. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of dealers willing to do the deal at MSRP, or at least close to it.(1000 mark up) I called so many because I was very picky with my color combo.

The only problem is that the last time I use it, Honda's website wasn't doing so well. When you search for a dealer in Indiana, it gives you some in other states as well. So you have to be careful in who you call.

Thanks for the tips, so after all your haggling, did you get it under MSRP? and which color did you end up going with?

OT I know but mentioning the IS300 Lexus, reminds me of a car doing the rounds over here, the IS300 is not due until summer next year, and with the UK public still quite suspicious of anything above 4 cylinders(cost worrys mainly in a small saloon) Lexus have sent out an IS200 to a specialist tuner in the UK and are now displaying it at motorshows and the like in Europe,
A supercharged IS200 with >200 Bhp, 0-60 in <7 seconds but significantly quicker 0-100~ 18 secs (down from 26), so once its moving its quite a mover! Looked nice too.

I believe they sell twice as many in winter.

At least to Greg

IS it just me or does anyone else notice a design similarity to the S in the front and back od the ISx00 (x being 2 or 3). Slanty head lights, cavernous grille, round tail lights behind plastic.

Mind you, that's where the similarities end.

Yeah, I see a bit of resemblance. It seems apparent when you look down on the front of the car, the flare over the front tires seems similar. Portions of Lexus and Honda's designs seem A bit more sexy than the German counterparts.
