2001 1-2 gear grind

I modified my shift habits in my 2001 as described above by others and it mostly fixed my grind too. Yep, I hate having to modify perfectly good driving behavior (in other performance vehicles) but oh well.

How could you make such a sweeping statement? The mechanism is exactly the same as the '00 with a minor tolerance change that we know for a fact is not consistent. I would venture that this is not a clutch or driver issue.. this is a continuation of a questionable transmission design.

I too have had the 1-2 grind in my MY2001. I know it wasn't from premature shifting cause it happened 3 times in one day...when I was watching carefully how I was shifting. Though the problem hasn't come up for about a month or so I still think it wasn't a problem with my shifting technique, rather some fluke problem at the time.
