Sadly no. The FAQ is still a mixed bag of misinformation.

FIX IT OR DELETE IT SOMEBODY, PLEASE! No info is better than bad info. It keeps confusing new owners.

I'm pretty sure the top is PVC (polyvinyl chloride).
