JEEEZ! Why keep comparing two different cars that cannot be compared???? I would take either the S2000 or the Z06 in yellow........they just happened to have the S2000 in stock when I was shopping.......otherwise I would have bought the Z06, which they did not have in stock. :-)

LOL.... Seriously, the Corvettes are way too big!!!! An awful lot of wasted space for a 2-seat car. As you stated in one of your earlier posts..... The S2000 is the pure essence of what a sports car should be.....or something like that

While I love the S2000 and almost everything about it I find it hard to compare it to the Vette. I have owned 3 Vettes in the past and really like smaller sportscars. That said I put on an SCCA drivers school this past weekend and traded drives with a ZO6 owner who is also a big fan of the S2K. The S2000 is more instant in it's responses and a more "pure" sportscar. The ZO6 once moving seemed to shrink to fit me and I forgot about it's large size. I found it not only faster but also much, MUCH easier to drive and almost as responsive in the turns. On anything other than a very tight autocross track I think the ZO6 would be the easy winner. Even in autocross the SCCA is rating the ZO6 up two classes faster than the S2000.

The last Corvette I owned spent a lot of time in the shop and I ended up hating the car. My S2000 has spent even more time in the shop and I still love it in spite of the problems I've had. What does that say about the S2000?

Hands down the S2000 excells in 3 important categories - rarity, bang for the buck and performance.
I think the s2000 does excel in these categories also, but there is one category that hasn't been discussed at all in which the honda has been known to be the reigning king: permagrin while operating! Everyone's comparing numbers and consumer reports, but what about just plain driving the car??? running to 9 grand, listening to vtec scream when it kicks, silky smooth shifts in what's often been called the best feeling tranny in the world, and a tight compact sports car with an even tighter suspension that feels like you're in an F1 car. You made the comparison between a vette and a boat, this statement says alot because most people compare the s2000 to a high-powered go-kart with a perfect 50/50 weight distribution. Whichever one of these you think is more fun to be in, a boat or a high-powered go-kart, is the one you'll enjoy more. Personally, i grew up with lots of go-karts in the garage , i'll take option A Driving fun, to me, is the most important factor when making a decision to buy a car, not engine size, not 0 - 60 times, not image. Honda seems to have the best knowledge as to what components equate to sheer everyday driving pleasure, i think all the owners will chime in here and admit to this permagrin effect!

Radster; Granny use to drive a super stock Dodge! I seem to remember that back in the 60's someone wrote a song about her. You don't want to mess with granny! She would turn that Dragon into a lizard and ask "is that all you got?" I know what your saying about size, but the new ZO6 is equipped to handle your challenge and ask for more. We will have to agree to disagree!

So you dont think Vette or Z06 owners have permagrin while operating??
Yup...my father and I had some serious permagrin on our face when we were broken down and pushing the car out of the intersection. Most vette owners get a friggin' automatic...how much fun could they possibly be having?

hehe,

seriously though... the Active Handling on the Z06 would make granny look pretty good behind the wheel

Actually, you remind me a bit of a friend of mine. He used to have a Civic EX Coupe with eibach springs and decent tires and wheels. He always felt he could outhandle a lot of more upscale sports cars. Turns out, he was just driving his car to 11/10ths once in a while...

Consequently this was his second Civic Coupe. His first one was stock and totalled when he outcornered a 300ZX on a twisty road and rolled the Civic...

The 2nd one (with suspension) bit it while trying to out handle a Mustang Cobra on a sweeping onramp. The back end got into some gravel and it spun around, into the dirt and hit the only thing in the entire field... a large concrete pipe. 20 feet in either direction and all he would have lost would have been his pride...

instead, the Civic's left front wheel took the blow...

So, then he got a beater Accord and now owns a 944 Turbo...

I don't doubt that his Civic with him behind the wheel would show taillights to people on a regular basis on a twisty road...

Its called balls... either that, or stupidity... we often teased him about his 944 Turbo... "Let's see, you can't keep a Civic on the road, so you went out and get a 944 turbo?"
