Default 2002 S2000 Sales Brochure - Ouch!

Anyone noticed the 2 pics of the S2000 instrument panel in the current sales brochure? It shows the car doing 8000 RPM at 65 MPH- the kicker???-There's only 28 miles on the odometer. Ouch! Hope no one got that one.

What about if it is 65 _kilometers_ per hour. I would say that 8000rpm is roughly what I have at that speed.

Still, doing that with only "28 miles on the odometer" is pretty .

Actually, would it be that critical if it was VTEC'd before 600 miles? If the tech prepping the car at the dealer took it out to wash and didnt' abide by the 5500RPM, as long as it wasn't routinely done, is it going to make a difference? I only ask because I had 15 miles on mine when I picked it up. 15 sounds a bit higher than others claiming 8. It certainly wasn't 7 miles round trip to wash/test drive the car?

Hi,

quite a while ago, someone explained 'plausible' values when taking delivery. I don't remember though who it was or what the name of the thread was.

Basically it described that some 7-8 miles or so are normal while somewhere around 15-20 miles indicates that your car has gone through an extra quality check in Japan. Every x % of S2000s go through that process.

I hope I remebered at least the mileages correctly, but am not really sure.
