Default 2004 brake pads

i have 12,000 miles on my car, and not hard on it...wondering if anyone has a heads up on when the pads need to be changed...i looked at them and they look sort of 50% worn, but it was a passing glance with the wheels on and i could not see the fronts as well as the rears...?????

Jack it up and remove the wheels.

There is no definition for how long they will last, it all depends on how much YOU use them.

I wouldn't expect them to really last more than 35k miles at most, but I'm sure someone's will.

I just ordered the StopTech Stage 2 Upgrade Kit yesterday. My current pads are about 4 mm thick with 70K miles on them. 75% of my driving time is on the highway. I do not track the car but drive aggressive on back roads. Hope this helps.

Replaced front and rears at around 12k miles. Of course that's with around 15 autocrosses and 4-6 light track days. It's the track days that really do them in.

Yeah, it really depends on your personal usage.
