Default Owners, how many years for your S2000?

Sat down and was planning future car purchases with the wife. Was thinking about buying a used C4S cabriolet in a few years, but wondering if it would be worth trading in the S?

There have been numerous posts in the last few months with people getting rid of their S2000s.... Wives orders, new home down payments, babies needing 4 doors, back pain, practicality, losing jobs, wrecking cars on slippery days....

So the question is: How long did you have an S2000 for (and why did you get rid of it) and for current owners... realistically how long do you plan on keeping the car before upgrades/babies/advancing technology will force a change?

And HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

10+ years, but I don't plan on babying it. I just figure that if it's paid for then I'm going to drive it until it drops. My Rx7 lasted me for 10 years and 188,000 miles before an abrupt shortening of the hood turned it into scrap.

I hope to replace my rear S02's another 10 or 11 times before I'm done.

I believe it'll be a 10+ year deal for us.

I'll be babying the exterior and autocrossing the hell out of it though.

I plan on keeping the car I have unless a 300+ hp version catches my eye.

After almud 5 years I still love to drive my S. It is my daily driver and is the best part of the day going to and from work.

I voted 6 years. I'd like to say that I'm in it for the long haul, since I plan to turn it into my track toy as soon as it's paid for, but I just have a feeling that I'll have an itch to upgrade in a few years. It just depends on how disciplined I am, and how well supported the car is a few years down the road.

I've been shopping for a 2000-2001 MY, and have talked to about a dozen sellers and their #1 reason for selling, almost to a man, is that the car is now impractical for their needs, i.e. new family.
