Ha! Ha! You shouldn't have left the family photos in the root DIR..........You need to study about Honda History of the S-series cars: S360, S500, S600, and S800! (No way Honda is going to call it S2000R if the displacement had changed! (well, don't quote me on this one??) But know your HONDAs!)

I found a lot of number could not be possible...............(mistakes)

But the writing was pretty good, almost got me there on the SMA...............I guess you had done some reading on the DNX??

If that article or spoof turned up to be true, I'll line up to trade my car in It sounds like a super car but not out of this world. I also think they would bring the R model to challenge the Germans and American Muscle.

**** UPDATE ****

Because of all the "nay-sayers" (lots here to go around) I made another call and got a little more clarification....

I previously thought the info was released by the head of AM to dealers, etc. Wrong. Why? That's where much of my past info originated from. This info is still considered "hush-hush" and has not been made public or released. This info and more will be harder to dig up than I originally thought. My contact (same as before and ALWAYS right in the past) said they are unable to reveal the source at this time but re-assured me the following changes are definite for 2004:

- new body
- new powerplant

No other details available yet.

I ordered a 2004 silver today! No price - no delivery date - maybe Sept '03 or sooner. We'll see?

Am I personally saying definite? No.... but my sources say "definite".

Lee355,

Do you know the exact size of the our S2000's F20C motor? it's a 1997cc! SO, add 4 more cc is still going to be called S2000. But 3 liter is 3000cc. SO, there! The name is wrong already (here is ONE of the number, LIL RAJA. Check out the origin of the Honda S-series car)
If Honda had bored the motor up to 2200cc, May be they will call it S2000R, but I still think the name will be S2200! Look in the past between S360-S500-S600? You don't see a S500R for the S600 do you? (They are only around 100cc apart!)

Click on the blue tap "S600-S800" on the left:

I'm sure there will be some Hp increase in 2004 or 2005 model (the next generation of S2000?), but not much changes in 2003 for the US cars.
But I heard that there are changes already for the Japanese models. (They are always about 6 month ahead of us on their new designed cars; more colors too!)

Maybe if I keep doubting you, you will keep digging for more information. So here it goes,"I don't believe you at all".

I hope this is true. Cause its going to take a while to get my stocks back up I might have to change my signature. It might be 2004 before me gets me own S

LIL RAJA,

DO you really think it's that easy to get 120Hp per liter out of NA engine? You really think just by adding two more cylinders and the extra 1000cc (1 Liter) displacement it's going to give you the 360 HP? Plus the torque he specified? How many one liter NA cars do you see with 120Hp? If it's so easy, why wouldn't Honda just mass produce these little 1 Liter-120Hp engines that gets 30+ miles per gallon and make more money? (I don't think you'll have enough torque to push the car; unless it's about 500 lbs like a motorcycle! Even the Insight weighs more than 1200 lbs!) Remember, unless you have large displacement. If you want torque, you will lose Hp; and vise versa.

R& D is going to cost too much for a car just in it's 3rd years run (well, 4 years for Japanese models). Plus a new engine block (in-line 6? Tooling cost!) I don't remember Honda have any spare in-line 6 laying around any where? Notice all the "V-6" motors are used in the Odyssey, Pilot, MDX, Accord, CL, TL, and RL?? REV! Yes! you can build shorter stroke on the V-6's and most of the in-line 6 will give you more Torque! (Please, don't quote me on that. at least that's what I heard for most of the in-line 6)

The number in weight, how can you add more metal (two more cylinders plus displacement), and that 420V thingie behind the seat? Have you guys ever looked at behined the seat? where can you put such thing near the gas tank? (I had stripped my rear interior pieces; I can see through the trunk. I know how it looks and what's back under there. No much room!) and get the weight down to 2400 lbs? Alloy suspensions and lighten frame he's talking about will save weight, but not that much! Look how much NSX saved? Still weights over 3000 lbs! Unless the body is CF composite (no sheet metal at all) May be? But then they must strengthening the frame. That will cost more money if they do use Alloy instead of steel. (like NSX, costly)

How did Destination charge jumped from $460 (All honda cars, except Acura lines) to $750 like the Acura NSX (around $765)??? When Honda increase price, they do not increase it like that!

There are more numbers which can not be in the Spec sheet. look for it!

I make a lot of mistakes too! Especially in spelling! he, he............. It's much eaier to catch other people's mistake than your own. It was fun reading though, wish was true.

I could see those changes in the fifth year of production

-new body (new panels, the chasis would remain the same)
-new powerplant (add i-VTEC, keep the displacement the same)

Those two changed keep in line with Honda's normal timeline and the stated intention to change most of the vehicles over to i-VTEC over the next several years.
