2006 S2000 Brochure
From marketing standspoint, I think Honda is making a smart move to introduce the 06 changes. VSA, DBW, better warranty and better speaker system will likely apeal to more potential buyers. The S is race car inspired, but it longer demands race car driver skill to handle it -- much like the Z and boxter. The change makes the S more competitive in the roadster market and allows Honda to keep selling it in next 3-5 years (i honestly can't see the end of production in 07 or 08, but that's another topic). The S has become a high-end miata, or a poor man porshe (don't flame, but that's how I feel). How can Honda not win.
For those of us who chose the S because of it unique perofrmance characteristic may not apprepriate the change. Much like the owner of Z, TT, boxter may not appreciate what the fuzz about the S. I love my AP1, period. All these later changes make the AP1 ever more unique in the auto history (now you can flame).

rw, I can't tell where the key switch for the airbag is. Yeah, I like that they integrated the light into the vent area. Sweet.
Walt, gee, I couldn't disagree more. The EPS is not a by-wire system, and it's immediately responsive. The assist is frankly more direct than normal hydraulic assist because the electric servo motor is integrated into the steering rack. That said, yeah, some folks have said they don't like the EPS on the S2000. I guess that's a matter of taste (I think it's my favorite aspect of the car), but you can't fault it for introducing lag -- lag is what folks are concerned about with DBW.

I still need a cup holder that's off-set from the "stick".

When I started reading, there were only 2 pages. By the time I get to the end, there are 8!
The NSX has had TCS (though not the full VSA) since its introduction. Those who don't like it disable it. No big deal.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the BRAKE ASSIST. Unless this has a disable feature, drivers should had this more! Heel and toe braking and left foot braking do not go well with BRAKE ASSIST. I could have lived with every other new feature except for Brake Assist. Oh well...
