Thumbs down 2008 S2000 or 2008 Civic SI

Ok, I've done my research for a couple of months and I've come | | that close to buying an S2000. I know how great it handles, and how fun it is to drive, but theres still one last thing bothering me. The space. I might sound crazy, but the most I ever carry with me is a couple of bags and my laptop which takes up next to nothing. My girlfriend only carries her purse around which is also pretty small. As of now, I don't use much space at all and I find a 2 seater would be suitable for me (not to mention theres some trunk space). My main worry is in the future if I have to buy something and I won't have 'room' or the occasional third passenger, this is where the Civic SI comes in. I still really want the S2000, but I was wondering what you guys would do if you carried as much cargo as me? And, does the trunk suit your everyday driving / shopping trips?

IMO there is ALOT of spacious room in the s2k trunk compared to other convertibles, it caves downwards in the middle of the trunk so you can store all of your misc. stuff and the bigger longer things over them, as for carrying big larger things, jut drop the top and carry anything whether its 5 feet tall or 30. best of luck to you, but if your comparing an si with an s2k the majority of the people here will say s2k obviously.

Well you have 2 choices. You can either be a bitch, or you can buy the S2000. I DD mine and it is fine for everyday shopping to get groceries or stuff. The biggest thing I've put in mine was a wallpaper steamer that barely bit in the front seat (didn't fit in the trunk).

Haha, well I'm only comparing the S2000 to the SI for space. I still want sporty performance but I was just asking if the trunk is good enough.

IMHO, Honda is making the civic si way too big now big now days. The s2000 just fits right with your body. There isn't too much space, yet you still have more than enough room to move around even for people who are taller. I've had my friend in my car who is 6 foot 4 inches. His head barely hit the top... so we just put the top down. He had enough leg room and everything. The trunk space is very large for our cars. I know the 350z has alot smaller compartment than we do.

All in all, the s2000 with have alot of room for groceries in the trunk and other things. Also, who needs a 3rd passenger.

Edit: Before I installed all of my parts, I had my 10lb nitrous bottle, my test pipe, my spoon crossbar, and my backpack in my trunk. It was snug, but it still fit which is amazing.

again i'll say it, you came to an s2000 forum, you know you want an s2000 dont disappoint us, make the right choice lol!!

s2000, it seems we are in a similar situations. Well minus the girlfriend (thank god, she was crazy), and I am more than fine with the s2000. The trunk has enough room for a couple golf bags and i havent really run into much i havent been able to fit in there. Only thing you may have to worry about is if your girlfriend got fat. Then you might have a problem, but fat chicks dont belong in an s2000 anyway. In other words, forget the si and go for the s2000, you will never regret it.

My recent ex was upset when I told her I was getting the S2000. She wanted to know where I was going to put a baby seat if we ever got married (after only 3 months of dating). I told her the trunk.
