Why is this her business anymore? Ex is an ex. Just get whatever you like the best. SI can't be compared with the s2k.
maybe you read it differently, but i think she made the comment prior to becoming the ex.

and that was hilarious btw offroad2000

I have another car as a DD, but after 2 years with the S, I'm considering selling the DD and just going with the S -- it's got plenty of room for what I need the majority of the time. I'm currently away from home for 5 weeks, and everything I need fits in the S. The wife & I have made Costco runs and the trunk swallows an amazing amount of stuff if you load carefully. Driving by myself I can get a full set of track support equipment in the truck with the race jack in the passenger footwell.

Now, my wife has a minivan so that probably skews my options. But consider this -- you can ride with your friends (what's the gf drive?) when you go out with a group, and if, say, you have relatives visiting, you could always rent a sedan for a couple of days. Will the Civic be more versatile? Ultimately, yes. Buy the Civic if you need it to be more versatile, though ... not because your friends need you to be more versatile!

I wish I'd bought the S five years earlier.

from the point of view of an australian where a civic is like a gold plated spoon compared to a S2000 which is like made out of diamonds..

civic here starts at around AU$25K ... the S2000 is AU$75K ..

so everytime i see people compare a civic to a S2K i cringe .. S2K is obvious choice ..
i only wish they were the same price here ... *sigh*

Well you have 2 choices. You can either be a bitch, or you can buy the S2000.

I daily drove the S2000 for 9 months before buying a Integra hatch for $2600. But in your situation where you care about driving your friends around, and hauling stuff, the Civic Si sounds like a more responsible choice while still being able to have fun. To tell you the truth, the Integra is about 80% as fun as the S2000. I've had the S2000 for 18 months and put about 9,000 miles on it (16,800 total), but I've put about 16,000 miles on the Integra (210,000 total) during the 8 months that I've had it.

Bottom Line, the Civic will be most versatile.
Makes me wonder how you drive your cars... Just how is an integra 80% the fun of a s2000? It doesn't have enough power, it isn't a convertible, and it's fwd.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but please explain, I'm interested.

Did you ever have the S2000 in gear?
