That's funny...I just saw a post in Temple of VTEC, search S2000, which had a cover page from a jap auto mag, with a pic of the next S2000, which looked NOTHING like the one depicted at the beginning of this post. There were no details yet, 'cause it was written in japanese!

i would rather keep the power in the 250-260 range but make the vehicle lighter by 150lbs. anytime an NA motor gains power it usually means a gain in displacement and that translates to a gain in curb weight and that would affect the overall feel of the car.

i say make the S like the Ferrari F40, F50, Enzo where they make an anniversary car every 10 years.

They will keep it until it will not pass safety requirements IMO.
I believe the pedestrian safety requirements are due in 2009, so I would expect the hood to rise a few inches. I believe there has to be 4 inches between the engine components and the inside of the hood. I don't believe the current hood meets this. this is why virtually every new car now has that bloated hood look.
They seriously should drop the MSRP to $29,995, since that is what they sell for anyway. This would make window shopping much more favorable with the competition.
