Seems like it is a much taller car than the S2000. Notice on the mule the distance between the ground and the bottom of the door, and the bottom of the front lip?

I'm guessing it's the S2000 replacement. Coupe design with back seats.

There definitely is a lot of area behind the seats. This is either a 2+2 or is mid-engined. Frankly I would barf if this turned out of be some sort of RX-8 imitator.

^Why?

I doubt it will HP like RX-8. I'm sure it's going to have more power to account for the extra weight.

If they make this I'm sure it would grab the market away from RX-8s. Many people are on the fence with the S2000 because it's only a two seater, this would be a good answer.

Give the S2000 a clean coupe finish with two more seats and compensate with more power to make up for the extra weight and I think it will sell.

Gauging from the design in the spy photo, I think it's got potential. I'd buy one.

The car that is replacing the S2000 is a smaller convertible with a 200 HP K20. Supposedly.

huh? why would they think its the next nsx and not the next gen s2000?
It's one of those Porsche Panamera/Cayenne things. Porsche developed the engine/transmission/chassis of the Panamera using the Cayenne frame to protect the new vehicle's identity (somewhere along those lines).
