2nd Gear "spot" grinding

Thanks for your reply.....I guess I am not grinding my gear since I dont feel anything weird with my right hand but I do hear some weird noise when releasing my clutch(especially when shifting into 4th gear)...it sounds like a rattle but I am not sure what it is....anyone heard of this sound before? Maybe it is my timing that is off???

Keep in mind that most of us have a shift technique and timing that is as much a part of us as our handwriting - tough to change. I suspect that if you make one error too many, it may then put the tranmission synchros in a state where you will get a grind all or most of the time. Again, I am not saying that the originaly tolerance problem was not part of the problem but just that in the newer 01 cars, it should be fine. As in my other post, watch for the following: make sure the transmission is up to temp (unfortunately, no guage)
