Is 3 days reasonable to perform a recall?
I called my local Honda dealer to schedule a visit to have TSB054 performed (First Texas Honda here in Austin). I spoke to the service manager recommended by others on this site. He wasn't overly nice on the phone, but I can't say he was downright rude either. He did, however, sound a little skeptical that I wanted to have the TSB performed.
He also told me that in order to perform the clutch TSB, the window TSB, and get an oil change, that he would have to keep the car for three days. He said he had all the parts in stock, so that wasn't an issue. Now, an oil change takes a whopping hour and thats on the long side. Recommended time is 4.5 hours for the clutch TSB. The window TSB is what, another hour, maybe two?
Is he jerking my chain with this three day thing, or is that how long others have left their car for TSB's to be performed? It would seem to me that the whole point of making a service appointment is to avoid that kind of delay. Am I nuts here or what?

I would give them 2 days tops. If they don't order the whole clutch set then it could take another day to order parts. Most likely you will need the disk, which is covered under the TSB and the pressure plate which is not covered.
The clutch may pay 4.5 hours but it is normally 7-8 hours on the clock, especially if the tech is not practiced at it. The window is another long winded procedure and there are fewer with experience. They wouldn't have people standing around waiting to do work. Three days is a stretch but I don't think it is unreasonable to take two. I have had bad experience pushing Honda dealers to hit a schedule and now just get a loaner and give them a little time.
When I had mine done, I dropped the car off Wed evening and I picked it up on Fri evening.
They wanted to take their time with it, so, it would be done right.
I had mine done about 6000 miles ago and no problems with it yet.
Good luck.
