350z&s2000
It all comes down to your personal preference. You really need to test drive both cars and find out for yourself...But here is my opinion S vs. Z
I drove both cars myself and use to own a g35 (auto & 6mt sedan). The Z felt almost like my g35 except it had 2 doors instead of 4. Of course, due to Z's stiffer suspension it did handle better than my g35, but the overall driving feel felt the same to me.
The Z felt heavy and the plastic material of the interior felt cheap...but you do get decent amount of power from vq35. I do like the exterior of the Z especially when it's mod'd with a nice body kit. The Z is also mod friendly meaning you can get more power out of the vc35 with simple bolt on's. I didn't like the stiff clutch but did like the shifter...it was short and notchy...I like the notchy feel.
As for the S, I love everything about it. The car is very nimble, high-reving, fun, go-kart like, better clutch feel, and it's a convertible. I think the S is simply an amazing machine and just plain sexy. You must drive one to really appreciate. Honestly, I was not a fan of S, I was really leaning towards the Z, and I was about to get the Z without even considering the S....but it all changed after driving the S.
Like I said earlier, it's your personal preference. If you don't like a high-reving, go-kart like handling...the S is not for you. If you want more of a touring car and want low end torque...the Z is the car for you. I think both the Z and the S is a nice car...I just like my S better.

Has anyone else ever noticed that in these "this or that" threads... the inquring person posts the original post and is never seen again in the entire thread?!?
I mean i honestly dont know whats worse, the fact that this kid is going to waste about 15 seconds to post this question asking "350Z or S2000" on an S2000 forum... or the fact that there is about 20k of these posts and we are still wasting our time reading it knowing our answers are always going to be the same.

Ok i need everybodys opinion. I sold my celica 2 months ago and still looking for another car. I narrow down my choices to 350z and s2000. Before i attempt to buy a car , i would like ask everybodys ideas about both of the cars
SO here are my plans
1) S2000- Thinking to buy 2000-02 silverstone with red interior - upgrade rims, exhaust, hardtop, suspension and maybe stereo, i am not into racing so i am not looking for turbo or supercharger sorry
2)350z- Thinking about super black color and dont know i can afford to buy anything else besides some nice volk racing sf challanges .
So please guys tell your opinions before i purchase . thanks in advance

i currently own a 350Z and i just test drove a MY05 and i have to say that there is nothing like an S2000. It's incomparable. The S2000 feels alot more comfortable around corners where the Z has noticeable body roll. Im planning to trade in my Z and get an S2000 ASAP.

yeah..this is like my 4th post.. the Z is a great car but i guess my tastes have differed. i have to agree with you on the interior build quality. The interior just feels cheap with all that plastic. Well i guess my tastes have differed.
Well here they are side by side - the S with the hard top. Price wize, the S with a hard top is more expensive than the Z coupe, but the S in convertible is less than the Z touring. Depending on the dealer, about the same difference. If your looking for a great coup, I'd look real hard at the Z, but for a convertible, the S is the car of choice. Incidently, see if you can get a copy of Car & Driver Aug 2003 issue. They did a great comparo of the S2000, Z350, Boxster, BMW Z4 and Audi TT. They (Car & Driver) ranked them in that order. What ever your choice, enjoy, and don't let the "Why did you post here?" cranks bother you.

Just look at the cheap plastic interior of the 350 and decide if you want to keep it past the 1 year mark where it looks like it'll fall apart. Obviously the interior has to be designed better than that, but to me the car just LOOKS very cheap on the inside (which is where you'll spend most of your time looking at the car).
