Is there any way to modify or create a set of gears that would have the performance of the 4.44 but the 6th gear would mimick the stock one? Or even better, set the sixth gear so that the rpms would turn at 2,500 at 80mph, al la z06? I would gladly shell out lots of $ for something like this!!

It is not a setting. If you want to change out the stock ring and pinion gear (4.10:1) to a 4.3:1, 4.44:1, or 4.77:1, then you order the new set (~$1000) and have it installed (~$400).

I wrote this a few posts above:

I think an ideal combo would be the 4.77 rear end combined with a .697 6th gear set (instead of the stock .811). This would be a big jump between 5th and 6th, but not enough that you would have to fall out of VTEC, and highway driving would be just like it is stock.

I never back my car up, I could convert my reverse into a 7th gear and use a 5.2 rear end!
That should only cost a couple thousand dollars.

P.S. Just kidding, and I'm not making fun of anyone. I can imagine someone actually thinking this to themselves.

Gernby,

Does anyone currently make that .697 6th gear?
