Default 4.57

do the 4.57 gears help the s2000 in highway pulls or is it mostly from a dig? also will it affect the performance of the s2000 in a road course?

it helps pretty much everywhere. Though potential top speed is lowered, actual top speed is probably the same (as you have more power at that specific MPH).

You generally will be in different gears at different points on a road course as compared to stock gearing. Depending on the course it may help a little, hurt a little, or make no difference.

the difference at higher speeds is not as noticeable as lower speed runs. that doesn't mean you won't pull. we charted it out once, and the geared S2000 will be faster at any race, EXCEPT if you START at 105mph roll. which the two will be about even.

if you start at 80mph, however, you'll pull the entire way to your top speed (about 155mph with 4.56 gears)

as for the road course, thus far I have found it helps tremendously, particularly because the low end "grunt" is increased. however, as stated, it could help, hurt, or make no difference depending on the road course.

www.ricks2k.com for current pricing. they can provide pre-installed gears in diffs. this install needs to be done by someone who is experienced in doing S2k gears.

So if someone wanted a car to race mostly on the freeway(40-60mph) pulls. Would this gear setup be ideal?? or would the stock longer gears be best?

even starting at 40-60mph pulls, the car with the 4.56 gears is going to be faster.
