yeah the launch makes all the difference on parts failure. ill have to join the club and post a vid of me launching on here. sweet idea.
im already preparing myself mentally for the first launch on drag radials/slicks, at around 6 k, with a controlled shot in first gear of 50 hp gain. whew thats gonna be a teeth grinder first time i do it.
that was a rough ass launch though, on your car, the traction was good, thats for sure. see how stiff the rear is, on your car, wait till i make the vid, youll see the difference then. my car squats HARD, and then just goes forward as it spins. mike said it looks funny, like a cartoon, extends the front struts. LOL.
still , more people need to do stuff like this. *how to* vids. cause s2k's are gonna become drag cars. its already happening. i cant wait to see one, with skinnies up front, and CF wing off the back, real low, and a chute under it. OH MAN.!!!! 9s here we come.
my other video when i get my car back, is gonna be *top this burnout* LOL. see what you started wis. LOL. lates dave

if by powershifting you mean not letting up on the gas, then no.

if you watch the video, watch my right knee/foot bounce out and then back down when i shift.
i do the same thing but sometimes find myself not coming up all the way.....but then again its so quick who knows

not sure what you mean by the squatting, but yeah obviously the rear end on my car is going to be a bit stiffer than the ap2's. however, keep in mind a large part of this is the fact that i have a very stable camera setup too.

your car will launch differently correct? because you have the delay valve, but a stronger pressure plate, so yours actually kinda doessome slipping, or something to that effect. ??

so if you had broken your diff would you feel it really bad?? Would the car still be able to be driven? The reason i ask is because I tried a launch once at a 6k drop and I think I rode my clutch a little bit cuz it smelled like it afterwards for a little bit. The car still drove normal but I got really paranoid and didnt attempt it again.

Im glad you posted this video, do you just drop the clutch at that piont? or do you kind of ride a tad? That is the part Im confused on, I feel like Im going to bog really bad if i dump the clutch. This video made me want those 4.57s really bad

yeah, it launches alot different. stock, it wasnt repeatable. id have to leave near 7k. as i added mods, the car made more Hp and TQ, and the launch rpm got lower and lower. now i can leave at 5k, and its perf. ask 9k fever. he watched 2 of my launches from the outside. its not pretty, i havent come acrossed a rwd car that can touch me yet out of the hole. my buds sti does, but cmon, LOL.
when i have absolute traction, like in LA (9kfever story) the delay works well, almost too well. the tires cannot, and will not spin. we were on like, death rock, like a bunch of sharp rocks glued down, similar to chip seal. and i sidestepped it at 5500, and it would not spin, the ass dropped all the way, almost near bottom out, and the clutch slipped about 5% just enough to keep the car in vtec out of the hole, and i was GONE. goodbye 350z with mods. 9k looked like this when i got back...
wtf was that. LOL, he said, *you nailed that launch* sad part is, i may need a stage 3 plate to leave on spray. we shall see. trans out for the 5th time. LOL laters dave

Depends. It may or may not. But you deffinately will know that you broke it. If you rode the clutch, you didn't hurt anything else but the clutch most likely. You side-step (drop by moving foot to left or right). At 6-7k you won't bog, just keep your foot on the gas completely down.

Everyone keeps commenting on "How great the shifting is" in the video.

I'm not discounting your shifting skills because you obviously can select a gear but I saw nothing spectacular about it. You have to shift fast when driving aggressively or you'll bounce off the rev limiter. You actually looked as though you were shifting a bit too hard and trying to force it in gear instead of letting it ease in there. I think your synchro's will pay the price over time if they haven't already. My brother has worn out and ruined all of his synchros in his S2000 ( since replaced) from that same style of hard and forceful shifting that doesn't allow the synchros time to catch up. I'm not hating... just posting my observations. Great videos BTW.

Good shifting, Wisconsin. It amazes me when people think they're shifting fast when in reality, they don't have a clue. Hopefully, a lot of people will watch this vid and realize how slow they're shifting.

As S2000 owners, we need to represent the cars on the mean streets of America and in order to exploit the full potential of the S2000, you need to drive it hard and fast.

I noticed you have a 2004 and I'm guessing you have the Clutch Delay Slave Cylinder still like I do. I shift as quick as anyone.. but I can feel the car holding me back.
