Hard to do yourself;you need a knoledgeable mechanic, and special tools(bearing puller etc..).
Figure around $1000.00 to $1200.00 everything included.(yellow box etc...)

Honestly man, you'd have a much easier and cheaper time ordering the 4.57's and comptech diff prebuilt from Stratocaster.
Its MUCH easier installing a prebuilt diff than it is installing the gears seperately. Not to mention if your mechanic doesn't get the lash set correctly you're going to hate life.
If you bought it prebuilt, you'd need a breaker bar, allen wrenches (good ones, and fairly long for leverage), 14mm and maybe 16mm sockets, torque wrench, jack stands, good floor jack (diff is heavy, its useful for getting it into place), some liquid wrench (very useful), and a bottle LE607 or Mobile1 75w90 gear oil.
I'm probably missing a few things, but that's mainly it. You won't be able to install gears yourself if your asking how hard it is. It's NOT a novice job.
Xviper has some instructions up in the How To sticky.

You can do "much" of it yourself (the easy part):

I'd recommend Stratocaster too. Don't try installing the 4.57 gearset in pumpkin unless you have all the tools and you've done it before. Twice. Jeff is easy to get along with, does a great job and you can order the Comptech reinforced diff w/gears prebuilt or ship him your diff, which is what I'd recommend if you have a clean low miles diff & can deal with all the issues a disassembled car presents. I got a prebuilt, kept my stock pumpkin, and personally found the diff reinstall challenging. But I'm not much of a mechanic.

How much is the Comptech diff and 4.57 gears from Stratocaster? Do they have the 4.57r as well? Where can I get them?
I'm assuming doing this would completely go against my lease.
